Suncook Babe Ruth Softball is beginning to plan for “Fall Ball”. This is the first year we have tried this and hope this will pilot a new program that will continue years to come.Seniors (Ages 13 to 16 Must be 13 on or Prior to Dec. 31st 2014): We are looking to have practice, skill building and conditioning on Sundays beginning Sept 7th at Volunteer field. Time is TBD. Last year was the first senior team we ever had, We had a great turnout and we would like to see development within this age group!
Majors: We have a lot of players from the last years Majors remaining in U12 for one more year and older U10 Minors potentially moving up to Majors Two players will be aging up to Seniors. Coach Rob Polsin has volunteered to manage a “ Fall Ball” team to participate in fall scrimmages along with Concord, MV and Chichester. If your daughter is interested please contact myself or Rob to participate. I can be reached at 670-4764 and Rob can be reached at 340-6505. This does not determine placement on a team! Suncook Softball will hold Evaluation Day for team placement in the spring as we have years past. This is a great opportunity to play softball in the fall and progress forward. Cost has not yet been determined but will be limited to $10. Dollars per player for the fall..Minors: We hope to have younger minors players from last year come out for practice and skill building to ready themselves for the 2015 season! Last seasons U9 year old players and last years (U8 year old Farm AA) players will be welcome to the field after the seniors practice to help develop skills needed for the (AAA) Minors level.
We are still working out times and field availability. Please, anyone that was in majors last year or majors eligible for 2015 please contact myself or Rob by next week so we can put a team together.
Hope you are enjoying your summer!Mark LoomisSuncook Babe Ruth Softball
www.kenryanphotography.comSuncook Babe Ruth Softball welcomes back Ken Ryan as the photographer for the 2014 Suncook Softball Season! Ken Ryan photography has posted several game photos on his website! There are many great shots from the 2013 season! We look foward to another great season in 2014!Picture day will be held May 10th 2014! Times are to be determined..
I wanted to say thank you to everyone that volunteered for the Turn 2 Tournament this past weekend! It was a lot of work but it was also a fun weekend. Concessions did very well and raised a good amount of money for the league. Throughout the whole tournament I heard nothing but compliments on the fields, the volunteers that maintained them, concessions and how we ran our small portion of the tournament.. some even commented that it was some of the best fields that they have played on this year. I also heard compliments back from Bow and the NH Softball Club saying the same!!
Again..Thank you EVERYONE that helped, And job well done!
Now! Moving on to Fall Softball. Suncook Softball is beginning the plans for fall ball clinics. A chance for players to learn and develop skills in the off season. We have never done this before but I feel it is needed and will be a great addition to our program! My goal is to keep this to little or no cost to the families. Fall ball will be held on Sundays to avoid conflict with other seasonal sports. We hope to begin at the end of August or the start of September and continue as long as we can before cold sets in. (Not Labor day weekend!) The clinics will be geared towards U8 Players that may be moving up to U10 (Minors) and above..U12 (Majors) and 13+ (Seniors). The goal is to have players learn the skills needed to advance to the next level or better their skills at the level they are in before spring. I will be looking for volunteers to help with the fall program. If you were a coach this past season or if you wish to help coach in the spring this is a great chance to learn the drills and skills that the players need to better themselves for the upcoming year. Again! We are always looking for volunteers to coach or assist coaches. Seniors!, If you are in high school or entering high school and would like to help with the younger players please e-mail or call me. I will sign off for community service credits.
Over the next few weeks I hope to have a tentative fall ball schedule together with dates, times and agenda. I would also like to meet next week with any board member, coach or volunteer that would like to help plan or participate in the preparation of the clinics..If interested let me know! I will contact you of a date and time to plan the fall agenda.Thank you.. Hope you are having a great summer.. Hope to see you all in the next few months!
